I loved the movie "Grindhouse". At this years SXSW Film Festival, Robert Rodriguez held a contest to see who could make the best Grindhouse-style trailer. Here are the results (not for the faint of heart!!!):

Winner:

Hobo With a Shotgun

Runner Ups:

Maiden of Death

The Dead Won't Die

Honorable Mention:

El Jardinero

As I find more I will post them. Enjoy!

Here are the trailers that played with 'Grindhouse' theatrically:

Edgar Wright's "Don't!"

Eli Roth's "Thanksgiving"

Rob Zombie's "Werewolf Women of the SS"

Robert Rodrieguez's "Machete"

I thought there were only 3 SXSW Grindhouse trailers picked, with Hobo winning it all? Was there an honorable mention? I wasn't there and never saw any official results. Just curious.

There wasn't technically an honorable mention...but El Jardinero would have my vote too. I was the writer/director of Dead Won't Die....small world. I'm from MN too and it's nice to hear you are working with Jim for sound...he's a good guy. He mentioned horror house...I wish you all the luck in the world and am looking forward to seeing it....we are currently working on raising funds for a Dead Won't Die feature, so I admire what you've already accomplished.
